3rd CERIL International Conference:

A New Horizon for European Restructuring and Insolvency Law

The conference marks the 75th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration. This Declaration, signed on 9 May 1950, laid the basis for growing European collaboration and the current day European Union. It has also paved the way for various restructuring and insolvency law initiatives. Our conference will reflect on this evolving landscape of European restructuring and insolvency law.

The discussions will focus on experience with the European Insolvency Regulation 2015, now 10 years after its entry into force. The conference will also discuss the path for further harmonisation, including the Proposal for an Insolvency Directive and the new ideas for the introduction of an EU 28th regime on insolvency law.

The Conference will take place on 8-9 May, at the University of Leiden in Leiden, The Netherlands. There will be many speakers from across Europe (academia, judiciary and legal practice), including the EU Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, the Rule of Law and Consumer Protection, Michael McGrath and Dutch Minister for Legal Protection Teun Struycken. The full program is attached to this email.
