CERIL

The Conference on European Restructuring and Insolvency Law (CERIL) held its second International Conference on Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 April 2024 in Vilnius (Lithuania). A delegation from CERIL visited the Rector of Mykolas Romeris University, Prof. Dr. Inga Žalėnienė, to express its gratitute toward the University for hosting the Conference.

The CERIL International Conference on Preventive Restructuring in Europe brought together over 75 attendees in Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) in Vilnius to evaluate the impact of the EU Preventive Restructuring Directive 2019/1023 and the complexities of the new European restructuring frameworks after the transposition of the Directive. The CERIL Conference took place in conjunction with a PhD workshop organised by the Bob Wessels Insolvency Law Collection (BWILC).

After the Conference, a combined delegation from CERIL and BWILC, consisting of Reinout Vriesendorp (CERIL/BWILC Chair), Gert-Jan Boon (CERIL/BWILC Secretary-Treasurer), Elina Moustaira (Member of CERIL Executive), Nicoleta Mirela Nastasie (Member of CERIL Executive), Defne Taşman (CERIL Adjunct Secretary) and Joël Lozeman (BWILC Adjunct Secretary) made a courtesy visit to the MRU Rector, Prof. Dr. Inga Žalėnienė.

During their meeting, they reflected on the success of the events that took place in MRU. The CERIL and BWILC delegation expressed its sincere gratitude to Prof. Žalėnienė for being an excellent host of the events and extended its appreciation to the representatives of MRU, Remigijus Jokubauskas, Prof. Virginijus Bitė, Mykolas Kirkutis, Darius Bolzanas and the MRU Team. The Rector responded that she was very pleased to host the event at their university. The discussions concluded with the resolve for the continuation of the excellent relations in the future.
